Step 03
Panel Size
Enter your measurements in inches. Max width 236" (6m).
📐 Inside Mount — Measuring Guide
If you plan to install in between the posts of a patio, deck, pergola, or similar structure, and mounting to the underside of a cross beam, this is considered an inside mount.
First — Check Your Depth
Measure the depth of the mounting surface from front to back. To install the brackets, the depth must be at least 3½". For a flush mount (shade fully recessed within the opening) the depth must be at least 4". If your depth is not sufficient, see the outside mount instructions.
Width
Measure inside the opening/frame from left to right at the top to the nearest 1/8". If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8". That is your ordering width.
Height
Measure from the bottom of the cross beam/mounting surface down to wherever you'd like the shade to stop — in three places: left, middle, and right. If the shade will go to the ground, we recommend leaving 6"–12" of space for airflow and cable guide installation. Write down all 3 measurements to the nearest 1/8" and circle the tallest. That is your ordering height.
📐 Outside Mount — Measuring Guide
Decide where you want to mount your shade — on a wall, cross beam, deck, patio, or gazebo. You will need at least 4⅛" of flat vertical space above the opening to mount the brackets, and no obstructions down the full length of the area. Your ordered width is the "tip to tip" measurement including brackets and headbox. The fabric will be approximately 2¾" narrower than the ordered width (~1⅜" on each side).
On a Cross Beam or Above a Window (No Trim)
Width
We recommend extending 2"–3" on each side of the opening for best light control. Measure left to right including your desired extra space on each side — that is your ordering width.
Height
Measure from the top of where you will mount the shade down to where you want the bottom to be. If going to the ground, leave 6"–12" for airflow and cable guide installation. That is your ordering height.
Above a Window with Trim
Width
Extend 2"–3" on each side of the opening. Measure left to right including extra space — that is your ordering width.
Height
Measure from the top mounting point down to where you want the bottom of the shade, or to the bottom of the trim if preferred. If you have a protruding sill, measure to the top of the sill. That is your ordering height.
On the Window Trim
Width
Only recommended when no other placement is possible. Confirm trim is structurally sound. Measure from outer edge to outer edge of the trim at the top — that is your ordering width. Note the fabric will be narrower than the ordered width.
Height
Measure from the top of the trim to the bottom of the trim, or to the top of the windowsill if you have a protruding sill. That is your ordering height.
